Someone to watch over me
Squeak is in this picture, although you probably wouldn't recognize her. She's going to stay here a while and watch over us.
I haven't had the strength to write about her passing, but she is in heaven now and I miss her so much.

Goth Daisy and more Black and Whites ~ For What's Next Girls
Soooo... "The Aunt' over at What's Next Girls was talking about Black and White pictures today, and I am also a huge fan. I just took this one last night....
I thought Goth Daisy was a pretty good title for it, what do you think?
I got a new app for my iPhone recently called Instagram. It's pretty cool and I can take a picture, add a filter to it and post it to FB, Twitter and Instagram lickety split... unfortunately I can't post them to my blog as easily... so if you'd like to see them, please follow me on Instagram I'm @ChaRoo on there - I'm also going to start sending them to Flickr - I just set up a Flickr account under Cha_Roo, some rat-nose already stole my handle, can you believe it?? I'm totally loving this iPhone.
Anywho, I went through the archives because "The Aunt" was talkin about B&W pics to see what else I could find, and here they are, hope you enjoy! Thanks for the idea "The Aunt" - Hahaha I guess I need to figure out your name eh? :) :) :) BTW, the funny thing, is that I only know her as "The Aunt" because that's what "Jennifer" her niece calls her over at Wild and Precious whom I also enjoy reading. Check them out if you get a chance. They're good people :)
Without further ado... more black and whites...

Eating Disorders
We all have eating disorders in some way or another I guess. The one I'm talking about right now though is hers:

You see that face?? She's saying she want's her damn food NOW! Generally we have always just left the food for the two cats down all the time and they eat when they are hungry- or that's the idea anyway. This ones problem is that every time she eats, she immediately throws up. On and off for the last two years this has been going on. We took her to see a new vet, finally got her eating a new food, and have some more medicine for her, so hopefully (fingers crossed) we will get somewhere this time.
The reason we have started picking the food up is so that we can monitor and make sure she actually is eating and also because the other one needs to go on a diet! See:
She can't groom her back or her rear that well anymore because of how she's built and how uh fluffy she's gotten. So now she is on a diet.
Whee!

My babies
The only ones I have right now.
Right now, Squeak is up on my shoulder loving on me, purring. They make me so happy. They know just what I need.

Catria, Cat-Tree-Uh
So here's our little cutie pie Catria. As beautiful as she is, you would think she would be photogenic, but she is not... really... It's hard to keep her still enough, and she really hates the flash on the camera phone. I have some awesome pictures of her with the good camera, but well I'm having a hard time getting the 3456 GB of pictures off the camera card(S) and into picasa. Gosh that is such a PITA. Anyway, for your viewing enjoyment, here is the beautiful Catria:

Thanksgiving
Being as it is Thanksgiving, and being so inspired by my friend Lisa at The Cutting Edge of Ordinary, I just wanted to jot down some of the things I'm thankful for.
I'm thankful for my wonderful husband. He is truly the light of my life and loves me like I have never been loved before. He makes sure I know it every day, not just in his words, but in his actions.
I'm thankful for my crazy family. They.Drive.Me.Crazy a lot of the time, but I love each and every one of them. They are all special to me, and I would be very sad with out them*.
I'm thankful for my Cats. Squeak and Catria have been extra loving to me at just the times when I need it. Squeak knows me better than I know myself. I pray that she will feel better soon, and stop getting older, because I just can't bear the thought of losing her. Squeak has even showed her amazing loving timing to John this year, at just the moment he needed it. I love her so much.
I'm thankful for my neighbors. I truly cherish them, and am surprised and delighted by their generosity and kindness.
I'm thankful for my job. I have met a very special friend and two bosses who I couldn't be happier with. My job is challenging and just the right amount of crazy for me :)
I'm thankful for my house.
I'm thankful for the many friends I have made through blogging and online. I am grateful for all of you. We may not have met, but I feel a strong connection nevertheless. I look forward to sharing a cup of coffee or a martini with you at some point in the future!
I hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving!

Cats cats cats
So, I think we have finally got Squeaks' vomiting under control. After a very long, very emotional, extremelly expensive process, we have her on a regular daily med regimen - and she hasn't vomited in about a week.
Of course.... Catria has vomited twice in the last three days..... FML!
I think we may have to end up giving Catria some liquid deworming medicine... I am SO freaked out by this, because she is the worst patient in the world. When she was younger she had severe behavioral issues, and we had to go through a lot of different things and a lot of medicines, and nothing worked, she eventually grew out of the behavioral issues, thank goodness. She is absolutely unruly when we try to give her meds now.... So the next few weeks should be really interesting.

My Angel Went to Heaven Today - from my spaces.live blog
Monday, March 16, 2009, 11:15:01 PM
Shauna is gone :'-(
She left us today around 4:30pm. She was very brave.
She went to heaven with lots of mommy's tears on her little head.
She had lost another pound, and had stopped eating this morning. It was time.
I know I won't feel like this forever, by my heart feels broken tonight.
Thanks to everyone for their thoughts, prayers, hugs and kisses.
Please give your pets an extra squeeze from Aunt CharChar tonight.

The Shauna I know - from my spaces.live blog
Tuesday, March 10, 2009, 10:07:30 PM
The Shauna I know.
There are so many things that I am going to miss about my little girl. I call her little… well she is now, but she was always the biggest of the bunch. She weighed over 14 lbs a year ago in May… now she weighs nine.
I am going to miss how she would come to bed each night and snuggle. She loved to climb up onto my hip once I got comfortable, or on my butt if I was laying on my tummy. She would knead for a few seconds an then stretch out and get comfy. I’m going to miss how she would love to get right up on the pillow and lick and chew your hair.
I will miss how she acted like a dog with her little mice. I would pull one out from the headboard of the bed, make sure my legs were safe, and ask her if she was going to get the mouse…. Then I would throw it into the living room and she would run after it, pick it up in her tiny mouth and carry it back to the bed to play some more.
I will miss her little meow, it sounds like reant-reant. It’s adorable.
I will miss her pretty, pretty face. A lot of people over the years have called her ugly, have said she looked like a burn victim, they have said lots of things, and I always say no… she’s unique and beautiful. She won my heart from the moment I saw her on my birthday over 10 years ago. Never mind the fact that she made me sneeze immediately, and when we got her home we found out that she had worms and dandruff and diarreah. LOL. We kept her and got her all patched up and she was part of the family.
Squeak didn’t think so though. Poor little Squeak got sick right after we brought her home. She pulled through though. We nursed Squeak back to health over three long months of IV fluids, antibiotics and tube feedings of ensure and Metamucil.
I will miss how Shauna came running when the can opener was going, and how she is the only one in the house who liked the tuna juice. I will miss sharing my hearts of palm with her. She thought that was the best treat in the world. I just dug a jar out tonight and fed her some. I think she was in heaven.
I don’t know what I’m going to do with the extra sink in the bathroom now. I almost cry when I walk in there. I am still keeping water in the sink, even though she hasn’t been in there in two months. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to just let the water drain.
All three of my girls have been here for me through a lot these past few years. There was many a night, I came home and cried on their shoulders.
I love Shauna dearly, and it’s getting so close to the end now. I just had to put a few more things down on paper.
Thanks to everyone for their thoughts, prayers, kind words and stories. It means so much to me.
