Saturday - Fun Day
So after sleeping in until almost noon, I finally rolled my butt out of bed and got on with the day. I had a few errands I had to run today and my mom called me so I asked her if she wanted to join me. She's always up for some shopping so off we went. First we went and had lunch at Tijuana Flats. I had the chicken flautas. They were ok. Mom had some kind of rice bowl which was way better than the flautas. I don't get the love for that place. That's the second time I've been and I have to say, I'm just not that impressed.
After lunch we went to Target, I needed to buy an air mattress for our camping trip that's coming up at the end of the month. I ended up with a queen sized coleman - it was a decent price and it should be a little sturdier than the Serta that was ten bucks more. While at Target, I spied the new PINK CD, which I had to have, and some halloween marshmallows that i'm going to dehydrate for the camping trip for us to have in our hot chocolate. I have a few friends coming this year on the camping trip and I'm really excited about it. More on that another day.
After Target, we went to World Market to look around, and I ended up with some orange chocolate truffle cookies in my paws. We munched on those afterwards and they were delicious! Onward to Yankee Candle where I procured two giant whoopee pie candles for work. We bake cookies for our clients, but they don't always smell as cookie-like as we want, so I thought the chocolate candles would enhance the scent of the cookies a bit more. Don't you wish your financial planner baked fresh cookies when you came in to an appointment? Uh huh!
Finally we went to BJ's where I got a bunch of stuff for work, water, coffee, TP, paper towels etc.
Mom got a half price costume at Target for Halloween next year. She tried it on when we got home and it looks super cute! It's held together in the back by velcro, so she's going to have to be careful! LOL!
Now I'm home and just finished watching Private Practice from last week and I'm wishing there was a Pioneer Woman to watch from this morning.
I'm pooped! How was your day?

30 Days of Truth - Day 4
Day 4 - Something you have to forgive someone for.
I won't lie. This has been a hard one for me.
At first thought, this was easy for me. I forgave my ex-husband and his now fiancee a long time ago for the hell they brought down on me. I'm actually thankful that it ended, though it could have ended better, we're friendly now, and I am happy about that.
What hit me, after that realization, is that there are some things I haven't forgiven yet. Things that I don't talk about, or think about, because it hurts too much, and I go into a downwards spiral and can't get it out of my head. Some things that can never really be properly forgiven because the perpetrators are dead.
As I'm finally typing this, I realize that the Truth about Day Four is to acknowledge that you have to forgive someone for something. You don't actually have to do it. So that's what I'm doing now. I acknowledge that I should be able to forgive.
I thought I was to a point where I could, but I can't. Maybe I will someday.
Here we go again.

Another Day
It's Tuesday. That's what the calendar tells me anyway.
I thought I would feel bad today, but I don't. J and I had a good talk last night, and we have plans for more talking. Just like anything else, this is only a temporary setback.
I really, really, REALLY wish my mom was home. She's out of town and it sucks. J mentioned that he wished she was home last night too and I lost it.
What is it about moms that make you just burst into tears. It happens to all three of us girls. We can be just holding it together by a thread, but we ARE holding it together, and someone mentions mom, or she calls, or we see her... and the dam is broken.
It's even more heartening knowing that he wants her here too.
I haven't started my actual to-do list for the day, but I did read through all of my work/severance paperwork and I have a lot of questions to ask HR.
My main goal today is to find some money somewhere so I'm not afraid to go grocery shopping.

After a long time
I've decided to come back to blogger, although I've never really posted anything here, it has been a placeholder of sorts. I'm going to finally consolidate everything here. You know, I will have a lot of time on my hands I guess.
I was laid off last Tuesday 7/21/09. My dad's birthday.
This is going to be a long row to hoe.

Let the party begin! - From spaces.live
February 08
Let the party begin!
The birthday festivites have officially started. I had a fabulous lunch at Siam Orchid (www.mysiamorchid.com ) today with a few gals from work, Flower-Sister, Mr. Gamer - her husband, pumpkin (their daughter) and peanut (the two week old nephew).
I got to hold pumpkin for an extended period of time, and I informed her mother that she would have to refill her with sugar 'cause I stole all she had with her .
Peanut was tiny and precious and as a bonus he didn't spit up on me.
Lunch was delish... I got the volcano chicken. And the salad. Love that place.
The company was WAY better though.
(happy sigh)
